NSU Art Museum Members Preview Reception – Surrounded Islands

Please join us to celebrate the opening of Christo and Jeanne-Claude Surrounded Islands Documentation Exhibition.

This immersive exhibition premieres the transformative recent gift to NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale of Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s definitive documentation exhibition of “Surrounded Islands: Biscayne Bay, Greater Miami, Florida, 1980-83." The project, which was only on view in Miami’s Biscayne Bay for two weeks in May 1983, was so successful in capturing the imagination of art enthusiasts and the general public that over 40 years later it is still talked about as a magical moment. Curated by Bonnie Clearwater, Director and Chief Curator, NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale.
